Switzerland – SLN
Swiss Photonics and Laser Network
SLNĀ (Swiss Photonics and Laser Network) is a non-profit association. It serves as a network for a common vision and for growth of the photonics industry and institute cluster in Switzerland. It is the declared goal of the SLN, to promote the competitiveness and the chances for growth of its members through the support of the innovation forces.
- SLN was started by Swiss institutes active in the field of material processing with laser beam tools (photonic manufacturing and photonic toolmakers). Today, SLN serves the full field of photonics, including photonic manufacturing, optical input/output (imaging and photonic life science), optical communication, photovoltaics and lightning.
- SLN serves companies, research facilities, and universities in the field of photonics from basic science over applied science, technology development, manufacturing and selling of photonic components and applications. SLN supports them in finding research partners and funding.
- SLN eases and supports the networking within the Swiss photonic cluster and establishes contacts to national and international partners and networks.
- SLN commits to serve as a lobby for the Swiss Photonic industry and to act as a catalyst for innovation in order to improve the competitive position of its members in the international market.
SLN is supported by the Swiss innovation promotion agency CTI.
